When you choose the actions menu option, a dialog will appear showing the different actions that can be called from the cell chosen. What actions will appear? That depends on your cube definition.

When you double click on an action on the list box, the desired action will occur.

Actions can be defined on single cube cells, dimension elements, whole dimension and whole cube. Also actions at the dimension level can be defined.

These actions can do different things depending on their definition, basically you can call an operating system command, show a web page, show the cell source data or call another cube view.

An example of the result of an action is shown below. When you  double click on "Show Sheri Nowmer Employee Card", a web page will be generated automatically with the following screen:
